Frequently Asked Questions
About Me.
Sessions are held through a HIPPA compliant video conferencing software like Zoom which can be accessed through your computer, tablet or cellphone. All you need is strong internet service or Wi-Fi, and some privacy. Each week, you will receive a link to my virtual waiting room and all you need to do is simply click the link. With each session, confirmation of your physical address is required. This is to confirm you are physically located in the state that I am licensed in. The only other time this address may be used is for wellness check by your local authorities if there are any safety concerns.
Between sessions, you can reach me through the secure messaging in the client portal, this is the most secure method, or you may also email or text me, and I will respond within 1-2 business days.In the case of an emergency, please contact 911 or go to your local emergency room. For a mental health crisis, you can call the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, call 911, or go to your local emergency room.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
You may notice I use the word "counseling" throughout this site rather than "therapy" — and you might wonder if that means something different, or something less. It doesn't. In practice, the two words are often used interchangeably, though "therapy" tends to carry a slightly more clinical connotation, focused on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, while "counseling" is often associated with guidance through specific struggles, transitions, or patterns that keep someone stuck. Both, at their core, involve a trained professional helping you understand yourself more clearly and make changes that last.As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), my training encompasses both. I'm equipped to provide traditional talk therapy for anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns, as well as the more solution-focused, growth-oriented work that "counseling" often implies — things like navigating a life transition, building healthier habits, or working through burnout before it becomes a bigger problem. Whichever word feels more comfortable to you, the services you'll find here draw from both.
No. Due to the depth and complexity of this work, being able to see each other during our time together matters. Nonverbal cues, body language, and facial expressions all carry meaning that gets lost on a phone call, and they're often an important part of how we understand what's really going on and how to help. Video sessions allow for the same level of connection and attentiveness you'd have in person, which phone sessions simply can't replicate.
No. Currently, most states have regulations that prevent me from providing services to you if you are physically present in a state where I am not licensed, even if you are only visiting temporarily. I am licensed to provide services in the following states: Arizona and Colorado.

I offer a free, no-obligation 20-minute connection call to help us both determine if we're a good fit. You can schedule this through my website by selecting "Request Appointment," or by sending a message through "Contact Me." This is also a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have. If for some reason we're not the right fit, I'll do my best to provide you with trusted referral options.
